ReStore Manager Purpose:
The ReStore is a not-for-profit retail business that sells donated building materials, furniture, and appliances at discounted prices to generate revenue to support Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle's mission of safe and affordable housing.
The ReStoreManager, under the supervision of the HFHEP Executive Director, is responsible for the startup and daily operations of the HFHEP ReStore.
The Manager will be responsible for the overall business performance of the ReStore including the acquisition, marketing and sale of quality donated items as needed to achieve sales targets, as well as the hiring, training, and supervision of volunteers and staff.
Time Commitment:
This position will be a full-time salaried position.
A typical work week will consist of Tuesday - Saturday.
Some adjusting of time may be required for Habitat events in the evenings or when needed at the ReStore for supervision on other days of the week.
Direct Supervisor:
Direct supervision will be provided by the Habitat Executive Director.
The Executive Director will conduct annual evaluations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have the following:
5 years retail and customer service experience.
BA/BS Degree preferred but not required.
2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Valid driver's license with 5 years driving experience and a clean driving record.
Team oriented spirit.
Previous personal volunteer experience and a passion for volunteerism in the workplace.
Experience with Point-of-Sale systems - or the ability and willingness to learn.
Experience in completing paperwork required for the sale of merchandise.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to move and carry heavy boxes of merchandise through the store - lifting 50 -75 lbs.

Willingness to work a variety of hours/days, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Duties:
Operations:
(45% of time) Oversee the opening and closing of the store daily.
Post daily/weekly task lists for staff and volunteers.
Organize daily safety meetings with all staff and volunteers.
Answer the phone, assist with merchandise, clarify policies, resolve disputes, greet customers, and provide supervision to staff and volunteers.
Ensure the safety manual policies are followed as written.
Update as necessary.
Identify and eliminate safety hazards or identify someone to mitigate them.
Any large safety hazards should be brought to the HFHEP ED's attention.
Responsible for establishing and growing partnerships with local businesses, contractors, and manufacturers to secure donations for the ReStore.
Develop a knowledge of merchandise and store procedures to serve as the Manager on Duty (primary go-to person for staff and volunteers).
Responsible for seeing that all items are cleaned, priced, and organized.
Assists in pickups and acceptance of donations.
Manage incoming donations so that readied merchandise moves from storage to show room in an efficient and quick manner.
Marketing:
(10% of time) Work with HFHEP Executive Director in putting together an annual marketing plan including social media, radio ads, community presentations, and more.
Attend community events to promote the ReStore and recruit volunteers.
Conduct outreach to contractors, businesses, and the community at large to ensure a steady stream of donations.
Management:
(25% of time) Hire and supervise the ReStore staff, performing annual evaluations as required.
Provide staff development and training to prepare them to cover your position when necessary.
Post weekly schedules for staff and volunteers in a timely manner.
Recruit volunteers and conduct volunteer orientations as needed.
Supervise and facilitate the utilization of volunteers, ensure volunteers have an engaging experience.
Assist with volunteers signing in or out as needed.
Financial & Reporting:
(20% of time) Reconciling the cash register daily.
Run daily sales reports to submit to HFHEP ED.
Provide monthly reports to the HFHEP Executive Director on store performance, operational goals, challenges, and other items needing to be addressed.
Maintain volunteer records in a locked and secure cabinet.
Provide volunteers with a means of recording their time and provide monthly reports to HFHEP ED.
Prepare an annual ReStore Plan and Budget to be submitted to ED and BOD.
Complete the required HFHI Annual ReStore Report.
Other reports that may be identified for smooth, efficient store operation.
