Program Support Assistant - Home Telehealth

Incumber serves as a Program Support Assistant (PSA) to the Director of Home Telehealth (HT) and to the team of care coordinators.
Duties are varied, non-routine and consist of handling data and communicating in a variety of means between the team and patients in the HT program.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
-Receives requests or instructions from care coordinators about patient equipment/voice response systems.
-Follows-up with patients to track receipt of HT items-Performs initial teaching via the phone and helps care coordinators complete the enrollment/set-up process.
-Communicates the schedule of equipment installs to be done by other staff and attends/assists with group installs (usually conducted in the library) done by other staff.
-Speaks clearly and conveys consistency in providing accurate information according to established policies and procedures.
-Operates various telehealth machines to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, answering questions for patients, staff, customers, and supporting the telehealth team.
-Troubleshoots the equipment so as to produce accurate, interpretable readings from the devices.
-Receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures.
-Uses software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports.
-Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program activities.
-Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains patient data and retrieves a variety of computerized data.
-Tracks and trends issues related to program effectiveness and role implementation.
-Utilizes statistical data to compile monthly workload tasks for each care coordinator.
-Assists in keeping the Director of HT apprised of patient census and any changes/problems that might be encountered.
-Utilize a variety of software programs, e.
g.
MS Office to include spreadsheets, file management, VistA menus, etc.
-Communications such as phone, fax, letters, e-mail, instant messaging, Outlook calendars, etc.
-Accurately collect, enter and manage data including both patient data and program data, and will enter required data into the HT database in a timely fashion.
-Operate web-based software of telehealth vendors as well as Excel database for HT program.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
